How to Create Your Own Google Chrome Browser Theme?

How to Create Your Own Google Chrome Browser Theme?

1.  Launch your Google Chrome and click this link: My Chrome Theme app for Chrome.

2.  Click the + Free button to Install My Chrome Theme app and launch it from Chrome app launcher or from the Apps tab.

In the My Chrome Theme app, you will need to complete the three steps to get your theme created.

1. Import your Image.
2. Add some color.
3. Install & share.

3.  In order to get started, click the START MAKING THEME > to open the theme configurator.

4.  If choose the Upload Image to browse and upload an image from your computer, or choose the Use Webcam to upload an image by capturing with your webcam  for the theme.

Note: Use additions options like, Adjust position, Image effects, and Import new image for a proper image configuration. Click the mode button switch DESIGN MODE or PREVIEW MODE at below the Chrome window in theme configurator.

5.  Click the Continue to Step 2 to go to second step. Here, edit three color options. Default color can be set after editing by clicking the Set default button in all three options.

1. Edit toolbar color - Click the pin to edit & change the current tab and toolbar color.
2. Edit background tab color - Click the pin to edit & change the background tab (Tabs other than the current tab.)
3. Edit frame color - Click the pin to edit & change the frame color. (Chrome browser window border or frame color.)

Note: Click the I'm Feeling Lucky button to let the My Chrome Theme to set best color to the rest of your custom theme.

6.  After setting the color, click the Continue to Step 3. In third step, type in a name for theme. If you share this custom theme with someone, they will be able to see this theme name.

Note: Click the + button below theme name text box, and type in a short description for theme. As the theme name, this description will be visible to whom you share.

7.  Next, click the Make my theme! button. In the next screen, you will see that your theme has been created successfully. Click the SHARE THEME and follow the on-screen instruction to share the theme. You would like to see the preview of your theme. Click the Preview theme option below the SHARE THEME button.

8.  Finally, click the INSTALL MY THEME button, click the Continue in confirmation message and then, click the Add button in Confirm New Theme dialog. Your custom theme will be installed and applied quickly.

Conclusion :

• Images you use in the custom Chrome themes, are hosted by Google. When you delete the theme, it will be deleted permanently.
• Theme file can be downloaded as a zip file from the preview, and this zip file can be uploaded to Chrome Web Store using a verified Google developer app.
